Sculpted Douglas Fir, Evergreen Ridge, Solitude, UT
Prayers were answered. Wishes were fulfilled. The ski season at Solitude ended with a bang. Right now I'm lamenting not being at Snowbird today to take advantage of the three feet of snow that's fallen in the last two days. To feel better I'll think about some of the great days I had this past season. Solitude closed at least a week too early, but I can't complain, it was a fantastic season. I ended up with 21 days under my belt and more than 250,000 vertical feet. Thursday, March 26th was my best day of the season. With a Tuesday through Wednesday storm dropping 27 inches, it was truly bottomless. My last day of the season, Thursday, April 9th was a blast. With 11 fresh inches, Judd and I arrived in time for first chair, and along with Wayne and Marinda, we stayed to catch the last lift - 3:59 Powderhorn. Ski patrol pretty much had to force us to leave the mountain.
